OVERVIEW

Urban Sports Club is Europe’s leading sports and wellness flat-rate platform. Despite paying for variety, users often stick to familiar studios. First-time anxiety, and unclear class information prevent real exploration. At the same time, partner studios lack structured insight into what prevents users from booking.

The solution, Smart Studio Assistant, reimagines the booking flow as an intelligent feedback ecosystem. It is not simply a conversational AI feature. It is a two-sided intelligence system embedded directly into the class page that reduces user anxiety while transforming conversations into actionable insights for partner studios.

TOO MANY OPTIONS,

NOT ENOUGH CLARITY

COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

Our secondary research, including market analysis and ecosystem review, revealed that platforms are moving from just offering access to providing data-driven insights.

Today, value doesn't come from how many studios they offer, but from how well they understand and guide user behavior.

LACK OF INSIGHTS

Many gyms/studios rely heavily on platforms like Urban Sports Club for visibility but lack sophisticated data infrastructure to analyze customer behavior.

While studios can measure attendance and revenue, they rarely have insight into pre-booking decision-making processes, which limits their ability to optimize descriptions, FAQs, and onboarding communication.

VARIETY OFFERED, ROUTINE PREFERRED

The gap between availability and actual exploration represents both a user experience challenge and a business opportunity.

While variety is a core selling point, users typically develop routine patterns. They ignore the home page entirely and just re-book familiar places.

USER INTERVIEWS

FIRST TIME ANXIETY IS REAL

Users consistently described first visits to new studios as emotionally uncomfortable experiences. One participant shared that her first pilates class felt “super cringe” because she did not know how to behave. Users fear looking inexperienced, arriving unprepared, or violating unspoken studio norms.

USER INTERVIEWS

LACK OF INFORMATION

Informational gaps strongly impacted booking behavior. International users emphasized that language clarity is critical; if a class description is only in German, they often choose not to book. Also, equipment requirements, such as whether to bring towels or specific shoes, were also repeatedly mentioned.

USER INTERVIEWS

COMFORT ZONE

Although Urban Sports Club promotes variety as a core value, many users quickly develop habitual patterns. Interview participants admitted that they often skip the Home page entirely and go straight to rebooking the same gym or class.

VALUE PROPOSITION

Subscription based fitness & wellness service helps urban routine gym-goers & class explorers who wants to stay active and explore new activities, by reducing complexity and anxiety and providing more clarity with more personalized fitness journey.

For users, the AI agent reduces anxiety and makes exploration feel safer.

For studios, it transforms hidden hesitation into measurable insight, instead of relying solely on attendance metrics

For Urban Sports Club, it strengthens ecosystem value by evolving from a booking platform into a data-driven intelligence partner.

THE STATE OF SWEAT

B2C

The Smart Studio Assistant appears within the booking flow as a natural extension of the class page. It allows users to ask questions about what to expect, what to bring, and how sessions typically unfold.

By addressing uncertainty in real time, it transforms emotional friction into confidence and increases the likelihood of exploration.

USC

The assistant operates as a behavioral intelligence engine. The data enables the creation of structured monthly insight reports and benchmarking tools for partner studios.

USC strengthens its B2B positioning and differentiates itself through proprietary ecosystem intelligence.

B2B

The assistant provides access to previously invisible customer thinking. Instead of relying solely on attendance metrics, studios receive insights into what users ask before booking, what information is missing, and what creates hesitation.

These reports allow studios to refine descriptions, clarify policies, optimize onboarding communication, and improve service design.
